Chalk Stone

A traditional childhood strategy game, reborn in digital form.

Chalk Stone is a 2D strategy board game inspired by the simple chalk games once drawn on stone floors during childhood.

Three pawns.
Nine positions.
One opponent.
And every move matters.

Place your pawns, develop your position, outsmart your opponent, and create the perfect line to claim victory. But be careful — blocking your opponent can be just as powerful as forming a line yourself.

🎮 How to Play

• Place 3 pawns onto the board.
• Move your pawns across connected positions.
• Develop all three pawns before your winning strikes become valid.
• Create a straight line horizontally, vertically, or diagonally to win.
• During the Battle Phase, completely blocking your opponent can also secure victory.
• If the board becomes locked, both players receive a limited number of chances to break the deadlock.

The game rewards planning, positioning, patience, and prediction. A single move can completely change the board.

🪨 A Game From the Stone

Chalk Stone's visual identity is inspired by the feeling of playing traditional childhood games outdoors — chalk lines scratched onto an aged stone surface, simple pieces placed by hand, and endless matches played with friends.

The goal was to take that familiar childhood experience and transform it into a polished 2D indie game while keeping its simplicity and character.
